Community Projects
One Step at a Time
Roe Park
On the southside of Park Street that backs up to the train tracks is an overgrown patch of land. Once the home of Blue Point Laundry, it was eventually claimed by Suffolk County. The ground was remediated by the county, and it has sat vacant since. Due to renewed efforts by the BPCA, town officials, and members of the community, we are on the verge of breaking ground this year on a new neighborhood park. Stay tuned!

5 Mile Look
The historic 5 mile look hotel is only just a remnants now. A crumbling stone wall and fountain are all that remain. In collaboration with the Bayport Blue Point Historical Society, the BPCA is leading the effort to rebuild the concrete wall which will serve to beautify the area and mark the historic landmark.

Save the Great South Bay (STGSB) Partnership
The BPCA recognizes our unique relationship with the Great South Bay and was one of the first civic associations to partner with STGSB on their creek defender initiative. Additionally, the BPCA involves STGSB on community projects.

Main Street Grant
While unsuccessful in 2019, the BPCA remains undeterred in the efforts to improve Blue Point's main street (Montauk Hwy). In applying for the Suffolk County main street grants, we hope to improve the walk-ability of Montauk Hwy and attract appropriately zoned businesses as well as improving the overall appearance and cohesiveness.
